Welcome to NHCTC Stratham & Portsmouth.
As a student of our campus, you are being provided with a college email address. This email address is where all of your Blackboard email communication will reside.
Students are not able to change their primary e-mail address in Blackboard or SIS. This will be populated with your @students.ccsnh.edu email address and will be used as your primary e-mail contact.
-
Your e-mail address is comprised of your first initial, last name, and 3 numbers followed by @students.ccsnh.edu, (ex. jsmith123@students.ccsnh.edu). The "3 numbers" are the last three numbers of your random database key. The reason we use this so that if there are multiple students with your same name, we can make sure you get the proper email that you are supposed to.
To determine your e-mail address, please log into SIS and click on the "What is My Default E-Mail Address" link.
- Your default email password is a 6 digit number that has been assigned to you. To find this password, please log into SIS and click on the "What is my Default E-mail Password" link.
-
To get to the log in area for your email, you must log into your Blackboard account. Click on the "My Email" tab at the top.
-
If you forget your email password, you will need to go to:
From here you can request to reset your email password back to your default email password, which you can always find in SIS.
- Want to change your email password? Click here to view a tutorial.
Remember that when logging into your email, use your User Name and not your whole email address. See below for example:
How do I log in to the Student Information System (SIS)?
You can access the Stratham & Portsmouth Student Information System or SIS by going to
http://stratham.nhctc.edu/sis or by following the links from within Blackboard or the college's website. Once there, you need to click the "Enter Secure Area" link.
The "User ID" is the your Student ID (this might be your SS# or your randomly generated number)
If this is the first time you are accessing SIS:
Your initial PIN is their 6-digit date of birth (mmddyy) OR the last six (6) digits of your User ID.
If you attempt to log in with your Student ID and incorrectly enter your PIN three times, you may get "locked out" of SIS. If you are locked out, you would get a message that reads:
If this happens, please go to the Student Helpdesk website and click on the "Request Help" link and submit the form.
Remember, in SIS it is a PIN, and a PIN is only digits or numbers, no letters.
What is Blackboard and how do I access it?
Blackboard is our online class delivery system that provides an electronic classroom environment for distance learners, as well as our local learners. Blackboard also provides us an electronic community space for getting you students information as well as giving you the ability to customize your Blackboard experience.
If this is the first time you are logging into Blackboard:
Your "Username" would be your first initial, last name, last 5 of your Student ID, (ex. jsmith12345)
Your "Password" would be the last six digits of your Student ID.
Like the SIS logon, this password can be changed as well once logged into the system by going to the "Tools", "Personal Information" section.
This is all outlined in the FAQ section of the Student Helpdesk website.
If you forget your Blackboard login information or password, please go to the Student Helpdesk website and click on the "Request Help" link and submit the form.
What is the Student Helpdesk and how would I access it?
The Student Helpdesk is a technology resource provided by the IT Department, to give general frequently asked questions as well as a form to fill out for more directed help if necessary. The address to the Student Helpdesk is
http://stratham.nhctc.edu/helpdesk or it can also be accessed through Blackboard or the college website.
If you are a student that is taking classes at two different campuses
You will have email accounts from both campuses. Please go to the Stratham and Portsmouth Helpdesk, and click the "Request Help" link if you are in this situation.
